Our Story

Opened in 2012, Harry’s Grille & Tavern (Harry’s) is a Charlotte-based gastropub featuring fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and a relaxed atmosphere. Offering upscale casual American cuisine, Harry’s menu features signature sandwiches, hand-cut steaks, and fresh salads that are easily paired with locally crafted beer or innovative signature cocktails. Harry’s also offers a weekend brunch, featuring a twist on classic dishes and savory delights. Harry’s Grille & Tavern’s location is located in the Steele Creek Town of Ayrsley.

Harry’s Grille & Tavern is owned and operated by New Forum, a Charlotte-based real estate development, management, acquisition, and operating firm with a portfolio that includes office, retail, hotel, multifamily, and senior living.

When we set out to open Harry’s in March 2012, we knew we wanted to pay tribute to one of our favorite “Harry’s.” Harry is a real person. We think the world should be more like Harry so we’ve built our restaurant based on the way he lives. Our Purpose is to generate devout customer loyalty by exceeding expectations in every guest interaction.

The Story of Harry

Harry is everybody's friend. In fact, he's never met a stranger! He listens when people talk and he fully embraces the present moment. When friends see him in a deep conversation with someone he's just met, they joke that Harry’s found the latest addition to his Thanksgiving Dinner. We're not much for rules, but if we have to have a few, the following are good to live by.

Treat people the way you want to be treated.
Always smile; it uses fewer muscles than a frown.
Appreciate those around you; they might be there a while.
A meal should be an experience; not just some stuff on a plate.
Good conversation trumps texting; you don't have to spell things out.
Always have a good drink handy.
